Our Pastor |
My first impression of the area was back in May 2008. I was passing through on HWY 44 towards Pinawa for the Annual Priest Retreat. I had never been in this corner of Manitoba before and its beauty captured me. I remember saying to myself "This is a very nice place!" A month later, I was named pastor. Coincidence? Someone told me that this is God's country. Well I believe it. Come and see for yourself.
When people ask where I come from, my answer is Manitoba. I was born in St. Boniface, lived in Transcona (they were both cities at the time) for the first 3 years, then moved to Richer and La Broquerie, growing up on a hog farm with my two brothers and three sisters. After losing the farm in the early 80's due to high interest rates, the family moved to Winnipeg. I also lived for a year in St. Norbert before becoming a student in 1992, at the Catholic School of Evangelization in St. Malo. In the fall of 1993, I moved to Holland to work at the Trappist Monastary cheese house. I was ordained April 27, 2001 and my first posting was as associate pastor at St. Bernadette Parish (Winnipeg). In 2002, I was named pastor for Saint Jean Baptiste, Aubigny and Sainte Agathe. And now I am living in Cooks Creek. Where do I come from? Manitoba!
Looking forward to meet, pray and celebrate with you all.
